  • While only one company -- Monsanto -- controls the genetics of 93% of the soybean and 80% of the corn grown in the U.S.
  • And Dean Foods controls 40% of our fluid milk.
As Big Food conglomerates use their market power to squeeze profits from hard working family farmers and farm workers, they also use their wealth and power to influence Congress and state legislators to corrupt the basic laws and regulations of our democracy to their benefit. Each year giant agribusiness corporations receive billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, helping them gain an unfair advantage in the market over smaller companies and allowing them to reap huge profits at the expense of the family farmer and American consumer.
