LIVING OFF-GRID
I lived out of a tent the summer of 2013 and began building my own tiny cabin by myself. I have a two panel solar system. There's also a back up generator for very cloudy days. Phone service is unavailable. A wood stove provides heat. I haul water from a spring a mile away. I live this way 4 to 5 months out of the year. When the snow starts to fly in September, I have only a month or two left. It doesn't melt until late May or early June. Temps can dip as low as 40 to 50 degrees below zero. Snow will be six feet high for months in a row. Here's my blog as I was building.
